The white coral fungus is found growing solitary but is more often seen in groups. It grows on humus rich soils in coniferous and deciduous forests, and shrubberies.

Description

The fruit body of the white coral fungus consists of one or more stems or arms. These are branched and look like coral. The tips can also have single or multiple projections, which can be pointed or smooth, and white to cream or pale ochre.

Flavour and use
White coral fungus is mainly used a culinary garnish. It has a mildly nutty to neutral flavour.
